Welcome to our homesteader's Journal! After much thought, request from friends, and the convenience of mobile blogging, I have started blogging.. I have lived in the mountains and country all of my life, until now. Yikes! I live in the city now, and adjusting to this new environment is a new world all of it's own. Bruce and I would love to be back home in the Smoky Mountains, retired and pursuing things we love. We have ten more years to finish working here, then Lord willing we hope to do just that.

Meanwhile I'm on a mission to turn our small city lot into a homesteading abode, as much as I can get by with... Our homeowners association is very strict on what we can have in our front yard, so I will be planting some very interesting flower's (Wink) in our beds this coming year..

We are going home to the mountains in a few days, for much needed rest and to visit my family. We haven't been in since Memorial Day weekend in May. The hardest thing about living so far away is missing my family and friends. So I hope to catch up this visit, since we are staying a full week. Bruce has a birthday coming up while we are on our trip.. I have a few surprises for him, that I hope will be awesome! So excited!!
.
I am hoping to bring back some plants that I use for medicine while I am home. Blackberry, Red Raspberry, and some blueberries grow on our farm back home. I also hope to bring back some walnuts, and some wild plants, and a tree or two...
